Residents verses blocked sewage drainage

             Residents verses blocked sewage drainage

The residents of extension 8B in Soshanguve are crying foul over a five month blocked sewage. The overflowing sewage is located footsteps away from their homes. It is reported that it has been blocked since last year in October.
“The drainage has been blocked since last year. As a member of the committee I have lodge a complaint to the City of Tshwane for many times. They came but I don’t understand what they did. The smell stopped for a week and after that it became even worse. We want them to fix it, “added Nkosi.
79 year old Betty Sibanda said that she has been having a running stomach for three months “I have even lost weight; I have fears that I might have contracted cholera. We have tried to talk to our councilor but he failed to attend our meetings. He promises to come but he never keeps his promises. Even the municipal people we had to go many a times before they decided to attend to our pleas. They came and after few days we were back at square one.  I don’t understand why they don’t clean up this place; the police are forever called to attend to dead bodies, rape and muggings”.
